The Mission Requires Commitment

Following Jesus is not a one-time decision, it is a daily commitment. In Luke 9:23, Jesus calls His followers to deny themselves, take up their cross daily, and follow Him. This kind of commitment requires sacrifice, perseverance, and intentionality.

The reality is that living on mission will cost us something. It may require giving up comfort, facing difficult conversations, or prioritizing others over ourselves. These challenges can feel overwhelming, but they are part of what it means to truly follow Christ.

Moses serves as a powerful example of this kind of commitment. He chose to leave behind the privileges of Egypt to identify with God’s people, valuing eternal reward over temporary comfort. His life reminds us that what we gain in Christ far outweighs what we give up.

Commitment is not about perfection, but consistency. It is choosing, day after day, to follow Jesus in both big and small decisions. Over time, these daily choices shape a life fully devoted to Him.
