Goodness In Every Season

It is easy to acknowledge God’s goodness when life is going well. In seasons of blessing, provision, and peace, we readily say, “God is good.” But Psalm 23 challenges us to expand that understanding. David says that goodness follows him “all the days” of his life, not just the easy ones.
 
This includes days of fear, failure, grief, and uncertainty. David himself experienced all of these. He knew what it meant to run for his life, to suffer loss, and to carry the weight of personal sin. Yet when he looked back, he did not see a life defined by chaos or pain, he saw a life marked by God’s goodness.
 
This does not mean that everything that happens is good. Scripture does not deny the reality of suffering. Instead, it points to a God who works through every circumstance for His purposes.
 
Romans 8:28 reminds us that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to Hi purpose. His goodness is not limited to pleasant experiences; it is present even in the refining process.
 
Learning to trust God’s goodness in every season deepens our faith. It allows us to walk through difficulty without losing hope. It reminds us that God is not absent in our pain, He is working within it.
 
Scripture:
Romans 8:28-29 - And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren.
 
Application:

• List both positive and difficult seasons in your life.

• Ask God to show you how His goodness was present in each one.

 
Prayer:
Father, help me to trust in Your goodness, even when life is difficult. Open my eyes to see how You are working in every season. Strengthen my faith so that I can walk confidently, knowing that You are always good.
