Fully Forgiven
Forgiveness is one of
the most powerful and comforting truths in the Christian life. Yet it is also
one of the hardest to fully accept. Ephesians 1:7 doesn’t just say we are
redeemed; it also declares that we are forgiven. Completely. Not partially. Not
conditionally.
Throughout Scripture,
God describes forgiveness in ways that emphasize its completeness. He removes
our sins as far as the east is from the west. He remembers them no more. These
divine promises.
Still, many believers
carry guilt like a heavy backpack. Even after confessing sin, we replay it in
our minds, questioning whether God has really let it go. We may intellectually
believe in forgiveness, but emotionally we struggle to embrace it.
Living in forgiveness
means trusting God’s Word over your feelings. It means choosing to believe that
when God says “forgiven,” He truly means it. It also frees you to extend that
same grace to others.
Scripture:
1 John 1:9 - “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Psalm 103:12 - “As far as the
east is from the west, So far has He removed our wrongdoings from us.”
1 John 1:9 - “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Application:
Father, thank You for Your complete forgiveness. Help me to trust that when You forgive, You truly remove my sin. Teach me to let go of guilt and walk in the freedom of Your grace.
- Confess any unaddressed sin honestly before God.
- Choose to reject lingering guilt when it resurfaces.
Father, thank You for Your complete forgiveness. Help me to trust that when You forgive, You truly remove my sin. Teach me to let go of guilt and walk in the freedom of Your grace.
