Trusting God's Preparation

Psalm 23:5 begins with a powerful image: God preparing a table before us. This preparation is not reactive, it is intentional and done head of time.
 
Throughout Scripture, we see a God who goes before His people. In Deuteronomy 31:8, He promises to go ahead and never forsake His people. This truth is echoed in David’s words, reminding us that nothing we face is a surprise to God.
 
Yet as Christians, we often struggle with this. When life becomes uncertain or painful, it can feel like God is distant or uninvolved. We tend to interpret silence as absence. But the reality is that God’s work is often unseen. Like the shepherd preparing the pasture before the sheep arrive, God is arranging details we may never fully recognize.
  
This matters deeply for our faith. If we believe God is only present when we feel Him, our trust will falter. But if we anchor ourselves in the truth that He is always preparing the way, we gain confidence even in uncertainty. Faith grows when we trust not just what God is doing, but how He is doing it: quietly, faithfully, and ahead of us.
 
God’s preparation means your current struggle is not wasted. It is part of a larger plan designed for your growth and His glory. Even now, He is working in ways you cannot yet see.

• Reflect on a past situation where God provided in advance.

• Remind yourself daily: “God is already ahead of me.”

Lord, thank You for going before me and preparing what I cannot see. Help me trust Your timing and Your plan, even when I feel uncertain. Strengthen my faith to rest in Your provision.
