Storms Don't Cancel God's Purposes

Scripture consistently shows that God’s people are not exempt from hardship. In fact, storms often become the very place where God’s purpose is revealed most clearly.
 
In Isaiah 43, God does not promise that we will avoid deep waters or fire. Instead, He promises His presence within them. This shifts our understanding of hardship. The storm is not evidence of God’s absence; it is often the setting of His faithfulness.
 
As believers, we sometimes interpret difficulty as failure or punishment. When life becomes overwhelming, we may begin to question whether we’ve missed God’s will. But the truth is, God’s purpose is not fragile. It is not undone by circumstances, delays, or opposition.
 
Like Paul, we may find ourselves exhausted, discouraged, and wondering why challenges keep coming. Yet even in those moments, God is still writing the story. What looks like interruption is often divine intention.
 
Instead of asking, “Why is this happening to me?” we must begin to ask, “How is God working through this?” That change allows us to remain steady, even when everything around us feels unstable.
 
God’s purpose for your life is not canceled by the storm you are in. It is often being carried forward through it.

Isaiah 43:2 - “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.”
 
Application:

• Identify one current “storm” in your life.

• Write down how you’ve been viewing it.

• Ask God to help you see His presence and purpose within it.

 
Prayer:
Father, thank You that You are with me in every storm. Help me to trust that my circumstances do not cancel Your purpose. Give me strength to keep moving forward, even when I don’t understand what You are doing. Remind me that You are working, even now.
