Holding Steady When Everything Feels Unsteady
Storms have a way of
making everything feel out of control.
You can’t fix it. You
can’t predict it. You can’t always see your way through it. And that’s usually
where fear starts to creep in.
But here’s the
important part: while you can’t control the storm, you can control what
you hold onto.
Faith isn’t
pretending things aren’t hard. It’s choosing to trust God even when they are.
It’s saying, I don’t understand this, but I’m not letting go of what I know is
true.
Think of it like an
anchor. It doesn’t stop the waves, it just keeps you from drifting.
God’s promises are
that anchor. When everything else feels unstable, those promises are what keep
you grounded.
Scripture:
Hebrews 6:19-20 - This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Application:
Prayer:
God, everything feels shaky right now. Help me stay anchored in You. When fear gets loud, remind me of what’s true.
Hebrews 6:19-20 - This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
- Write down one fear that’s been weighing on you.
- Find a verse that speaks directly to that fear.
- Come back to it every day this week.
God, everything feels shaky right now. Help me stay anchored in You. When fear gets loud, remind me of what’s true.
