Drawing Strength from Jesus' Presence
Being an effective
witness is not something we can do in our own strength. It requires a deep and
ongoing connection with Jesus. He is the source of our courage, our wisdom, and
our endurance. Without Him, our efforts will fall short.
Throughout Scripture,
we see the importance of abiding in God’s presence. Jesus promised that He
would always be with us, offering guidance and strength in every situation. Yet
many believers struggle to slow down and spend intentional time with Him. Life
becomes busy, distractions take over, and our connection with God weakens.
To be effective
witnesses, we must prioritize time with Jesus. This includes prayer, reading
Scripture, worship, and moments of stillness where we simply reflect on His
presence. These “pause” moments allow us to be refreshed and realigned.
When we draw near to
God, He draws near to us. In His presence, we find the encouragement and
strength we need to live out our calling. The closer we are to Jesus, the more
clearly others will see Him in us.
Scripture:
James 4:8 - Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
John 15:5 - I am the vine, you
are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for
apart from Me you can do nothing.
James 4:8 - Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Application:
Prayer:
Lord, I need Your presence in my life. Help me to slow down and spend time with You each day. Strengthen me, guide me, and fill me with Your Spirit. Let my life overflow with Your presence so that others may see You in me.
- Set aside intentional time each day to be with God
- Remove distractions during your quiet time
- Reflect on what God is speaking to your heart
Lord, I need Your presence in my life. Help me to slow down and spend time with You each day. Strengthen me, guide me, and fill me with Your Spirit. Let my life overflow with Your presence so that others may see You in me.
