Trusting God in the Midst of Opposition
Following Christ does
not guarantee an easy life. In fact, Scripture repeatedly reminds us that faith
often brings opposition. Jesus Himself said in John 16 that in this world we
will have trouble—but we can take heart because He has overcome the world. Opposition
is not a sign that something is wrong; often, it is evidence that God is at
work.
As Christians, we can
become discouraged when challenges arise. We may question whether we are on the
right path or wonder why things feel so difficult. But God’s sovereignty does
not disappear in chaos—it becomes even more evident. He is still in control,
still working, and still accomplishing His purposes.
Even when situations
seem messy or unresolved, God is actively shaping something greater. What we
see as disorder, He sees as progress.
Trusting God in these
moments requires faith. It means believing that He is present, even when
circumstances suggest otherwise. It means holding onto His promises when
emotions waver. And it means continuing forward, knowing that He is faithful to
complete what He started.
No matter what you
are facing today, you can rest in this truth: God is not absent in the chaos—He
is working through it.
Scripture:
Romans 8:28-29 - And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren.
Application:
Reflect on a current challenge in your life. Choose to trust Him by surrendering your worries in prayer.
Prayer:
God, when life feels uncertain and difficult, help me to trust You. Remind me that You are in control and that nothing is outside of Your plan. Strengthen my faith so I can stand firm, even in the face of opposition. Thank You for working all things for my good and Your glory.
