God's Plan A - The Mission Begins
When Jesus returned
to heaven, He entrusted His entire mission of redemption to His followers —
ordinary men and women who had walked with Him, failed Him, and had been
restored by Him. The story reminds us that the Church is not God’s backup plan;
we are His only plan. Jesus said, “As the Father has sent Me, I also
send you” (John 20:21). The Church — His people — carries the hope of the
world.
Too often, we assume
someone else will do it — the pastor, the missionary, or the “more spiritual”
Christian. But Jesus’ commission was for all of us. The same Spirit who led
Paul and Barnabas still empowers us today. God doesn’t wait for us to be perfect
before He sends us; He simply asks us to be willing. In a world filled with
brokenness, loneliness, and spiritual darkness, we are called to carry the
light of Christ wherever we go — into workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and
families.
To live as God’s Plan
A means surrendering our agenda to His and trusting that He can use our
obedience for eternal impact. There’s no Plan B — because we are it.
Scripture:
Acts 1:8 -But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.
2 Corinthians 5:20 - Therefore, we are
ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg
you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
Application:
Ask God to reveal one person in your life who needs the hope of Jesus. Commit to pray daily for that person and look for one small opportunity this week to show them Christ’s love.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for trusting Your mission to us. Forgive me for the times I’ve stayed silent when You called me to speak. Fill me with Your Spirit and boldness to live as Your witness today. Remind me that there is no other plan — You’ve chosen Your people to carry Your light.
