God's Sovereign Timing

Acts 10 is a beautiful reminder that God’s timing is never late, even when we cannot see all the pieces fitting together. Cornelius, a devout Gentile seeking truth, and Peter, a Jewish disciple wrestling with ingrained traditions, are on separate paths until God sovereignly brings them together. This was not a coincidence — it was divine orchestration for the sake of the gospel.

We often struggle with God’s timing. Waiting for answers, opportunities, or clarity can leave us restless and questioning. Like Peter, we may feel perplexed and uncertain. Yet, God is always weaving events together for His glory and our good. In His perfect timing, He places people in our lives, opens doors, and even closes some, all so that His purposes are fulfilled.

The spread of the gospel to the Gentiles in Acts 10 was a turning point in church history. It shows us that God sees the bigger picture we often miss. Trusting His timing requires humility and faith, especially when life feels delayed or confusing. But if we lean into His sovereignty, we will discover that His timing is not just good — it’s perfect.

Scripture:
Proverbs 16:9 - The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

Proverbs 19:21 - Many plans are in a man's heart, But the counsel of the LORD will stand.

Application:
Reflect on a situation where you are waiting for God’s timing. How can you practice trust instead of impatience this week.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that Your timing is always perfect, even when I don’t understand it. Help me to wait with faith, trusting that You are at work in ways I cannot see. Teach me to rest in Your sovereignty and lean on Your promises instead of my own expectations.
