Doing Things God's Way
We live in a world
that values independence and self-sufficiency. From an early age, we’re taught
to figure things out on our own. But as believers, this mindset can often
conflict with God’s design for our lives.
Acts 11 reminds us that Peter’s
obedience to God’s instructions—though unconventional—was the key to seeing
God’s miraculous work among the Gentiles. When Peter followed God’s directions
instead of relying on human understanding, salvation reached those who had
never heard the gospel before.
Too often, we treat
life like a project that says “some assembly required.” We jump ahead without
consulting the manual—God’s Word—and find ourselves frustrated or broken. But
God calls us to do things His way, not because He wants to restrict us,
but because He wants to bless us. Obedience brings alignment with His will, and
alignment brings fruitfulness.
We may not always
understand His ways, but His instructions are always rooted in love and
purpose. Trusting God’s directions—even when they seem difficult—invites His
results into our lives.
Scripture:
Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Application:
Begin each day this week by asking God: “How can I do things Your way today?” Identify one area of your life where you’ve been relying on your own strength and surrender it to His direction.
Prayer:
Father, help me to trust Your wisdom above my own. Teach me to slow down, listen, and follow Your instructions. I want to live according to Your ways so that Your results can be seen in my life. Amen.
