God Uses Worshipping People
After Peter and John
were released, the people responded with praise. The healed man entered the
temple walking and leaping and praising God. Their worship was so undeniable,
the religious leaders didn’t know how to respond.
Worship is not just a
Sunday activity—it’s a lifestyle of declaring God’s worth, especially in
difficult times. It aligns our hearts with His power. It declares, “God is
bigger than this situation.” When we worship, we make room for God to move.
In 2 Chronicles 20,
Jehoshaphat faced an overwhelming army. But instead of fighting, he appointed
singers to lead the way. As they sang, “Give thanks to the Lord,” God set
ambushes against their enemies. Worship was their weapon.
Scripture:
2 Chronicles 20:20-22 - They rose early in the morning and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa; and when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Listen to me, O Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, put your trust in the LORD your God and you will be established. Put your trust in His prophets and succeed." When he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who sang to the LORD and those who praised Him in holy attire, as they went out before the army and said, "Give thanks to the LORD, for His lovingkindness is everlasting." When they began singing and praising, the LORD set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; so they were routed.
Application:
Set aside 10 minutes today to worship God through music, prayer, or Scripture. Thank Him for who He is—even if your circumstances haven’t changed.
Prayer:
God, I praise You—not because of what I see, but because of who You are. You are faithful, powerful, and present. Help me to worship You in every season. Let my praise become a declaration of trust. May my worship draw others to You.
