God Uses Broken People

Brokenness is something most of us try to hide. We cover up our wounds—physical, emotional, or spiritual—thinking they disqualify us from being used by God. But the Bible consistently shows us that God often does His greatest work through broken vessels.

In Acts 3 and 4, God uses a man who had been crippled from birth as a powerful witness to His healing and salvation. This man’s brokenness becomes the very platform for God’s glory. His healed body was not just a miracle—it was a message.

Our culture tells us that value is tied to strength, beauty, and wholeness. But God tells us that His power is made perfect in weakness. Like the Samaritan woman in John 4, our past doesn’t prevent our purpose—it becomes part of our testimony. The world was amazed when the healed man walked and praised God. The town was transformed by the woman’s testimony.

You may carry deep wounds. You may feel like you’ve been broken into too many pieces to ever be useful. But God doesn’t waste your pain. If you’ll place it in His hands, He’ll use it to bring healing to others.

Scripture:
Acts 3:10 - They were taking note of him as being the one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

2 Corinthians 12:9 - And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

Application:
Identify an area of brokenness or weakness in your life. Offer that brokenness to God and ask Him to bring healing and purpose through it.

Look for ways God can use that brokenness as a testimony to Him power and greatness.

Prayer:
Father, I give You my brokenness. It’s hard to believe that You can use it, but Your Word says You can. Bring healing where I am hurting. Give me courage to trust You with my story. Use my past to reveal Your grace to others.
