Jesus is Risen: Our Message of Hope
Christianity stands on the historical reality of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As Luke opens Acts, he establishes the truth of the resurrection through eyewitness testimony, physical encounters, and personal transformation. For 40 days, the resurrected Christ appeared repeatedly to His followers. They saw Him, heard Him, and even touched Him. These weren’t hallucinations or stories whispered in the dark—they were lived experiences that emboldened once fearful disciples to become world-changing witnesses.
It’s tempting for us today to take the resurrection for granted, especially in a world that questions truth and resists absolutes. But if we believe that Jesus truly rose from the dead, then we hold the greatest message ever told. That message isn't meant to be tucked away behind church walls.
As Vance Havner put it, “We do not have a secret to be hidden, but a story to be heralded.”
The resurrection compels us to speak, to live boldly, and to share the hope that has been given to us.
And yet, many believers struggle with fear, doubt, or apathy when it comes to sharing the gospel. Why? Because proclaiming resurrection truth invites challenge.
But this message is not just our obligation—it is our privilege. The same resurrection power that raised Jesus is now at work in us (Romans 8:11). That means we don’t share alone. We share in the power of the risen Lord. The church begins—and still grows—on the bold proclamation: He is risen!
Acts 1:3 - To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.
Application: Reflect on how the reality of the resurrection has personally changed your life. And consider how you can be more bold in your faith.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for the undeniable truth of Your resurrection. You revealed Yourself to Your followers, and You still reveal Yourself to us today. Give me boldness to proclaim that You are alive. Let Your resurrection power fuel my words and my life. Amen.
